Advantages of stretch film
-Is used to trasport packages to their destination as a single piece without any demage
-Is used to wrap up packages as a whole consistently and as far as possible in the most proper way and incurring the least of work-force costs.
-As a whole it is an economical way of wrapping packages.

Package shape: A film that properly wraps a regularly shaped package might not show the needed durability against puncturing when used to wrap an irregular package. Even a regular shaped package that is smaller than the pallete might requare a more durable film (incase the package is to be fixed to the pallete). The new equipments with prestretch systems would probably reduce the problems associated with package shape.

Package content: In addition to pressure applied to the package, the content of the package also inluenceses the choice of the film to be used. A light, delicate and less dense package will obviously need a different film of different measurement and larger size from a heavy, hard and dense package.

Film application: The equipment to be used to apply films play an important role in the choice of films. In the new equipments with prestretch systems, interms of how fast the films are applied and the pressure applied to the package films with different aspects are prefered. The film that is used in all different equipments produceses certain results.
